The Qualifi Level 5 in Aesthetic practice is a new and unique qualification and is the first of its kind to be written specifically for the Aesthetics industry. It provides an exciting career pathway for learners wishing to develop their aesthetic practice skills within the health and aesthetic sector, and is the foundation qualification, specifically for those wishing to progress into Cosmetic Injectables and achieve a Level 7 in Aesthetic Practice.
- A minimum of a Level 4 qualification in a related sector or;
- A minimum of 3 years’ work experience which demonstrates current and relevant industry knowledge.
- Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and anaphylaxis management training.
In order to apply for this course, an informal interview is required to discuss entry criteria and RPL criteria.

Level 5 Certificate in Aesthetic Practice
Upon successful completion of the Level 5 in Aesthetic Practice, you will:
- Be qualified to perform a range Aesthetic services (medium depth peels and microneedling) to a high clinical standard.
- Have the pre-requisite knowledge of Anatomy, physiology and Morphology of the Ageing face to understand proper client assessment in Aesthetic practice.
- Understand the compliance of professional, legal and regulatory requirements of Aesthetic practice.
- Be able to progress your Aesthetic skills to study a range of Cosmetic injectables (dermal fillers and botulinum toxin) and or our Level 7 in Aesthetic Practice.
The Qualifi Certificate in Aesthetics Practice is a Level 5 qualification of 17 credits. It is based upon Health Education England (HEE) guidance relevant to the delivery of non-surgical cosmetic interventions.
The Qualifi Level 5 is a comprehensive degree level qualification, consisting of five mandatory units: three at Level 5, one at Level 6 and one at Level 7, and provides a generic core of mandatory units that apply in all aesthetics contexts.
The practical units within the Level 5 include Microneedling and Medium peels. Completion of the theoretical contents of the units like Anatomy, Physiology and Morphology of the Ageing Face will ensure that candidates have the level of knowledge and experience to continue onto the Level 7 Certificate in Aesthetic Practice.

Level 5 Certificate in Aesthetic Practice Course Overview
The course theory is delivered via an online learning platform, with face to face training for the practical elements.
It is estimated that the Level 5 Certificate in Aesthetic Practice will take approximately 150 hours to complete. This will consist of pre-study learning modules, post study research assignments and written questions (SAQs), clinical training (face to face) and mentoring and assessment session.
In order to meet the requirements of the L5 in Aesthetic practice, there are short answer questions (SAQs) and research based assignments to complete. SAQs and assignment are pre-set by Qualifi, and are internally marked, internally quality assured and externally quality assured by Qualifi.
As well as completing the set course work, you will be assessed by continual observation on the practical elements of the course, to ensure that you have all the knowledge that you will need to practice your skills professionally in commercial practice.
Qualification / Certification
Upon successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Level 5 in Aesthetic Practice which is an Ofqual regulated qualification. You will also be eligible to progress onto the much sought after Qualifi Level 7 in Aesthetic Practice.

If I am already a skilled practitioner, can I apply for Recognition of Prior Learning ?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a method of assessment (leading to the award of credit) that considers whether learners can demonstrate that they can meet the assessment requirements for a unit through knowledge, understanding or skills they already possess, and so do not need to develop through a course of learning.
RPL will differ for each individual Practitioner.
If you can prove (to an acceptable standard) that you have the training and/or experience in a particular field / module in aesthetics, and can meet the requirements of the Award, then you can be credited for that part.
Through the process of RPL you can upgrade any existing certification, irrespective of where your original training was undertaken. This means you may be able to save time and money, but not having to complete parts of the course you have already completed.
We can advise you on RPL and whether this is the best route for you upon application and together we will develop a personalised plan which takes account of your experience and existing certificates, along with an action plan of what needs to be undertaken to achieve the Level 5 in Aesthetic Practice.
